A welcoming 3-hour workshop for parents and carers of neurodivergent children.
Learn practical strategies to support learning, emotional regulation, and wellbeing at home, while also taking time to focus on your own wellbeing.
Together we’ll explore ways to support both children’s and parents’ nervous systems, helping to create calmer, more connected learning experiences.
Being a parent or carer of a neurodivergent child means learning two languages at once - the systems you're up against, and the nervous system you're carrying it all in. Most support only teaches you one.
Zeta has spent 17 years inside the first language - EHCPs, transitions, the forms that overwhelm even the most capable parent, the confidence to fight your corner when the system doesn't make it easy.
Radka has become an expert in the second language through lived-in experience and gaining expertise in understanding what's actually happening in your body when your child dysregulates, and why staying calm on paper is nothing like staying calm in the room.
You don't need to choose between practical and emotional support. You need both, because a regulated parent navigates a system better, and an understood system stops draining a parent dry. That's the whole premise of this workshop.
During the workshop, we’ll look at understanding the reasons behind behaviour, creating supportive routines, managing transitions, and using visual supports to encourage communication and independence. We’ll also discuss positive behaviour approaches, ways to support emotional regulation and reduce anxiety.
Throughout the session, there will be opportunities to ask questions, share experiences, and gain practical ideas that you can take away and adapt to suit your own child and family.
Most parenting advice tells you to stay calm. Nobody tells you how.
Or why your body sometimes won't let you, even when you desperately want to.
In this part of the workshop we'll be looking at regulation from the body up, not the mind down. Your child's nervous system doesn't read your words - it reads your body. The tone underneath the words. The tension you think you're hiding. Long before a child can tell you they're overwhelmed, their body's already told your own nervous system.
Body safety, not just mind safety: why understanding your child's behaviour intellectually isn't the same as your own body feeling safe enough to respond to it calmly. And why understanding your own body cues will help you stop your mind from going into overdrive
Recognising dysregulation: the first signs your child is heading towards overwhelm or meltdown. You will learn to recognise this in your child,
but just as importantly, in yourself, in real time, before it takes over
Knowing when to back off: the unglamorous, practical skill nobody sells you, because it doesn't sound impressive, but it's the one you actually need at 4pm on a bad day
Modelling, not managing: your own regulated nervous system is the intervention. Not another technique to perform at your child, but a state they borrow from you, over and over, until it becomes theirs. Over time, co-regulation teaches your child how to regulate themselves
Practical pointers: a range of SEND strategies that can be used within everyday family life
Home environment: sensory-friendly strategies that can be implemented at home, and simple techniques to help children develop confidence and everyday life skills

Radka has lived experience caring for a neurodivergent daughter whose autism wasn't identified until she was 17, despite going through CAMHS from age 12. CAMHS gave an autism diagnosis eventually, but Radka had absolutely no idea how to support her and herself throughout the full 5 years since CAMHS is not equipped to give parents guidance. Like for many families who have no answers as to how to best support their child between appointments, home life was chaotic and everyone in it was exhausted and mentally drained Radka had no map for how to support her daughter or herself and the family in the meantime.
That led her to undertake training to become a somatic, nervous system regulation expert who now teaches not just ND parents and carers how to look after their and their children's wellbeing from a different starting point: not by trying to think their way to calm, but by settling the body first.
This approach focuses on the body's safety rather than trying understand what is happening in the mind. Not because the thinking doesn't matter - because body safety will settle the racing mind anyway. Because the mind can't do its job until the nervous system feels safe and supported enough
to let rational thinking return.
